Vol. 285 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Bronze Age Grave.

19.

asked the Minister for Finance if he is aware of the discovery by a person in County Donegal (details supplied) of a bronze age grave known as Cist which was inspected by the Keeper of Irish Antiquities for the National Museum of Ireland; if he will have this area reserved for archaeological research; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I have been informed of the discovery this year of a Cist burial in County Donegal. The burial site has been fully investigated. I am advised that there is no evidence of the existence of other burials in the vicinity and that no purpose would be served by preserving this area for archaeological research.
