Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Cork Rural Electrification.

8.

asked the Minister for Transport and Power when electricity will be provided for Keemaneigh national school, Ballingeary, Macroom, County Cork.

I am informed by the ESB that terms for supply of electricity to Keemaneigh national school have now been quoted and have been accepted. Supply will be extended as soon as the internal wiring of the school has been completed.

9.

asked the Minister for Transport and Power when electricity will be extended to applicants in Gurteenfluigh, Curraby, Illancreigh and other townlands in Ballingeary, Macroom, County Cork.

I am informed by the ESB that the townlands of Gurteenfluigh, Illauninagh and Curraby are included in the board's Inchigeela and Ballingeary rural areas where the closing date for the receipt of applications for supply under the subsidised rural electrification scheme was December, 1974. Work on the erection of poles in Gurteenfluigh and Illauninagh is at present in progress and similar work will commence in Curraby in about two months time.

The remainder of the work necessary to bring supply to these areas will then be carried out and the applicants' premises will be connected. It is expected that all work will be completed in six to nine months.
