asked the Minister for Health if he is satisfied that the high standard of professional training called for by modern medicine is available to trainee nurses in Ireland.

I am satisfied that the high standard of professional training called for by modern medicine is available to trainee nurses in Ireland.

An Bord Altranais are the national body responsible for nurse training. They are keenly aware of the rapidly changing requirements of modern medicine and of the need to ensure that the training provided will enable nurses to cope satisfactorily with these requirements.
