Vol. 286 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Tipperary Estates.

2.

asked the Minister for Lands if the Land Commission will arrange to divide estates at Killoscully, Newport, County Tipperary and Toomevara, Nenagh, County Tipperary as requested by the local committees of the National Land League.

(Cavan): The Land Commission have an area of 61 acres on hands at Killoscully but the formulation of proposals for its allotment has been deferred pending the outcome of proceedings which are at present in progress for the acquisition of adjoining lands containing 114 acres. The intention would be to divide all the lands together. I understand that a further property in the area is the subject of preliminary enquiries by the Land Commission.

The Land Commission have no lands on hands in the Toomevara area and there are no proceedings for the acquisition of any lands there. I am informed, however, that within the past 18 months a total of 438 acres was allotted in the district.
