(Dublin Central) asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when the charts on automatic weighing scales in post offices will be altered to take into account the increase in postal charges introduced on 1st October, 1974.

All automatic weighing scales will have to be recalibrated in preparation for the introduction, as already announced, of the metric system in July next. In view of that pending development, the charts have not been altered to show changes in charges. Notices showing full particulars of weight steps and charges for each category of mail are displayed at post offices.
