A certificate of posting of an unregistered packet of any kind may be obtained by handing in the packet at a post office counter, filling up a form provided for the purpose and affixing to the form a 1p stamp. In the case of registered packets, a certificate of posting is issued as a matter of course when the packet is handed in for registration.
Full information on these matters is contained in the Post Office Guide, a copy of which may be consulted at any post office. Alternatively, of course, the information would be made available on inquiry at any post office counter.
