Vol. 286 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Aer Rianta Catering Section Pay.

16.

asked the Minister for Transport and Power when he intends to sanction the pay agreement recently negotiated by Aer Rianta with the employees of Catering Section No. 1 at Shannon Airport; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

My information is that while discussions on productivity proposals have been proceeding with the unions representing the catering staff in Aer Rianta at Shannon Airport no settlement has been concluded by the company. The company are in consultation with my Department and the proposals are being examined in the context of general Government policy on special pay increases.

Is the Minister aware that the people concerned, Section No. 1 at Shannon Airport, have been told by Aer Rianta that they have agreed and that it has been submitted to the Minister's Department and sent on to the Minister for the Public Service?

I do not know what they have been told. I am telling the Deputy the position as it is.

What the Minister is saying is that no agreement has yet been reached?

No settlement has been concluded by the company with these people.

With Section No. 1.

I think that is correct.
