Vol. 286 No. 11

Written Answers. - Laundry Services.

116.

asked the Minister for Health if he has received a survey of Irish laundry services drawn up by the Association of Irish Launderers and Cleaners at his request; if any decisions have yet been made regarding the provision of hospital laundering services; and if he will make a statement in the matter.

I received the survey of the spare capacity available in commercial laundries which was carried out by the Association of Irish Launderers and Cleaners. A detailed study of hospital laundry needs and how they can best and most economically be met is being carried out for my Department and the information supplied by the association is of value in connection with this study. When the full results of the study are available I will decide on a policy for the provision of hospital laundry services.
