Written Answers. - Water and Sewerage Schemes.

asked the Minister for Local Government the position with regard to the Shannon Estuary water supply scheme which is before his Department for approval; when it was received by his Department; and when it is likely that approval will be given.

There are at present no proposals relating to this scheme before my Department.

asked the Minister for Local Government the position with regard to the Newcastle West, County Limerick sewerage scheme improvements which are before his Department for approval; when they were received by his Department; and when it is likely that approval will be given.

I gave approval in principle to the preliminary proposals for this scheme on the 26th September last. At the same time Limerick County Council were advised of the need to carry out certain tests in connection with the project, the results of which would have to be considered before the further planning of the scheme could proceed.

asked the Minister for Local Government the position with regard to the Newcastle West, County Limerick, water supply scheme which is before his Department for approval; when it was received by his Department; and when it is likely that approval will be given.

The contract drawings for this scheme which were received in my Department on 21st December, 1975, are technically in order. It is open to the local authority to proceed with the completion and submission of contract documents.

asked the Minister for Local Government the position with regard to the Kilmeedy, County Limerick, sewerage scheme which is before his Department for approval; when it was received by his Department; and when it is likely that approval will be given.

I recently approved the preliminary proposals for this scheme, certain aspects of which had been the subject of correspondence with the local authority. The proposals were originally submitted to my Department in October, 1974.

asked the Minister for Local Government the position with regard to the Ballingarry, County Limerick, sewerage scheme which is before his Department for approval; when it was received by his Department; and when it is likely that approval will be given.

I am not as yet in a position to indicate when a decision can be given on this scheme the contract documents for which were submitted to my Department on 8th October, 1974.

69.

asked the Minister for Local Government the position with regard to the south-west regional water supply stage 2B scheme which is before his Department for approval; when it was received by his Department; and when it is likely that approval will be given.

Contract drawings for this scheme were received in my Department on the 17th December and are being examined.
