asked the Minister for Finance the estimated annual yield to the Exchequer of an increase of 20 per cent in overall taxes on gambling.

It is estimated that the annual yield to the Exchequer of an increase of 20 per cent in overall excise taxes on gambling would be of the order of £1 million. The estimate is made up as follows:

An estimate of additional revenue for value-added tax cannot be furnished as separate figures of these receipts are not available.
