Vol. 288 No. 2

Written Answers. - Meath Unemployment Benefit.

50.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare when unemployment benefit will be paid to a person (name supplied) in County Meath.

In order to be entitled to unemployment benefit on his claim of 13th November, 1975 the person concerned would require to have had at least 26 contributions paid or credited in respect of the 1974 contribution year. On the information available this condition was not satisfied in his case and his claim had, therefore, to be disallowed.

Following investigation by the local social welfare officer credit has now been allowed in respect of contributions due but not paid by his employer during 1974 and arrangements have been made to have all benefit due to him for the period 13th November, 1975 to 24th November, 1975 when he resumed employment, paid to him this week.
