asked the Minister for Health the net health expenditure by each health board for April-December, 1974 and for 1975 under the following headings: (a) general hospitals (b) tuberculosis hospitals (c) psychiatric hospitals (d) hospitals and homes for chronic sick (e) mentally handicapped (f) general medical services (g) mother and child services (h) infectious diseases services (i) rehabilitation services and (j) other services; and the allocations under each heading for 1976.

The following table shows the net health expenditure as estimated by health boards in the nine months to 31st December, 1974, in the form requested by the Deputy. Corresponding figures for 1975 cannot be given pending reconciliation of the provisional estimates furnished by health boards following discussions with officers of the Department.
With regard to 1976, each health board have been notified of their overall allocation for that year and have been asked to divide the allocation between a number of services groupings, selected for budgetary and control purposes, on the basis of their budgets for individual services. This work will shortly be completed by all boards. If the Deputy wishes to put down a question in a few weeks' time, I will let him have budgetary data for 1976 based on the services groupings.
