asked the Minister for Social Welfare why injury benefit and pay-related benefit have not been paid to a person (details supplied) in County Laois even though he has been claiming since 6th January, 1976; and why he was paid less than £20 injury benefit over a three-week period of injury in November/ December 1975.

The person in question claimed injury benefit in respect of a head injury sustained in the course of his employment on 4th December, 1975. He submitted two medical certificates, dated 4th and 11th December, 1975, respectively, and he was paid injury benefit at the appropriate rate of £13.80 per week in respect of the period 8th to 11th December, 1975. Injury benefit is not payable in respect of the first three days of incapacity unless the insured person is, as a result of the injury, incapable of work on not less than 12 days in the injury benefit period and pay-related benefit is payable only from the thirteenth day of incapacity.
On 27th January, 1976, a medical certificate, dated 13th January, in respect of incapacity from a wound on his right hand was received from the person concerned. There was no indication that this incapacity was due to, or connected with, the accident on 4th December, 1975. Disability benefit was awarded to him and is still in payment.
The insured person did not furnish his PAYE number in connection with either of his claims, although asked to do so. His entitlement to pay-related benefit with disability benefit cannot be determined until that number or a certificate from his employer of his earnings in the income-tax year ended 5th April, 1974, is furnished.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will arrange to have unemployment benefit paid to a person (details supplied) in County Cork; and if he will state why he is not receiving it, as he has no income now from any source.
The claim to unemployment benefit made by the person concerned on 11th February, 1976, has been allowed and arrangements have been made for payment of all unemployment benefit due to him during the present week.
