Vol. 288 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Motor Tax and Petrol Increases.

18.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the approximate cost to his Department of the recent increases in motor tax and petrol.

The increases in motor tax apply only to private cars and accordingly do not involve any cost to my Department.

The increase in the price of petrol, including the VAT increase from 1st March, will cost my Department approximately £200,000 in 1976 and £225,000 in a full year.
