Vol. 289 No. 5

Written Answers. - Meath Roads.

87.

asked the Minister for Defence why Colpe Lane and Station Road, Gormanston, County Meath, were closed for two weeks by the Army authorities, and in particular on Saint Patrick's day when there was no access to the beach; and if he will ensure that the roads will only be closed so as to cause the least inconvenience to the people of the area, particularly in the early mornings.

During the period mentioned firing exercises were carried out at Gormanston rifle range and an Army sentry was placed on the beach between Station Road and Cock Lane warning the public not to go on to that part of the beach while firing was in progress. The roads in question were not closed at any time.
