Vol. 290 No. 1

Written Answers. - Galway Mail Delivery.

77.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the reason for delay in delivering registered letters each Friday to a person (name supplied) in Galway.

I understand that delay occurred on one recent occasion only. A registered item was due for delivery to the person concerned on the afternoon of Thursday, 1st April, 1976, but, as there was no attendance at the address, delivery could not be effected. Through inadvertence the usual notice was not left at the address, and unfortunately the packet was not taken out for delivery on the following day. It was, however, specially delivered on Saturday morning, 3rd April. The inconvenience occasioned to the addressee by the delay in delivery is regretted.
