Tenders for the erection of the new Garda station at Kill, County Kildare, are being examined and it is hoped to have a contract placed by the end of June.
Would the Parliamentary Secretary confirm that the promise given last year—that building would commence this year—will be adhered to?
My information is that when the Deputy raised this matter with my predecessor, the late Deputy Kenny, it was hoped that planning would be put in hands late in 1976. As the contract will be placed in June, we have improved six months on the original reply given to the Deputy.
