Vol. 290 No. 7

Written Answers. - Children's Allowances.

43.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare why arrears of children's allowance since last August have not been paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kildare in respect of her daughter.

A children's allowance order book containing orders payable from August, 1975, was issued to the person concerned on 30th September, 1975. When my Department were belatedly notified in March last that the book had not been received, it was necessary to establish that the orders from the missing book had not been cashed. Inquiries in the matter have now been completed and a payable order in respect of the arrears due was issued on 6th May, 1976.
