Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Irish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children.

4.

asked the Minister for Health if his attention has been drawn to a recent press report (details supplied) on the acute financial difficulties of the Irish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children; and if he will provide an adequate grant-in-aid to enable the society to continue its invaluable work.

I have seen the report referred to by the Deputy. The current level of contribution to the society from public funds represents approximately two-thirds of its agreed expenditure for the current year. I would regard this level of contribution as reasonable.
