Written Answers. - Telephone Service.

45.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will provide telephone service to the house of a person (details supplied) in County Laois in view of his occupation and his seven days a week service to the public.

Telephone service is being offered to the applicant by way of an external extension to his residence from his business premises, where he already has telephone service. Owing to a shortage of engineering plant, it will be some time before a direct exchange line can be provided.

46.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the plans, if any, he has to improve the telephone service in the Newmarket area, County Cork.

Extra trunk circuits and an additional switchboard are required at Newmarket. It is hoped to provide additional trunk circuits within the next two months. An additional switchboard will be installed as soon as the necessary accommodation can be provided.

47.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when applicants on the waiting list for telephone service in the Millstreet area, County Cork will receive service.

During the last quarter of 1976 and early in 1977.
