Vol. 290 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Written Answers. - Unemployment Assistance Payment.

1.

asked the minister for Social Welfare why unemployment assistance was not paid from 19th September, 1975, to 5th March, 1976, to a person (details supplied) in County Offaly.

The person concerned had, in fact, been paid unemployment assistance with effect from 19th February, 1976, the date of receipt of his application. As, however, he had been furnishing evidence of unemployment from 19th September, 1975, in connection with his claim for unemployment benefit, which was disallowed, arrangements have now been made to have unemployment assistance paid to him in the course of the present week with effect from the latter date, subject to the usual three day waiting period.
