Vol. 290 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Written Answers. - Pension Order Book.

2.

asked the minister for Social Welfare why a person (details supplied) in County Offaly has not received his old age non-contributory pension book.

A pension order book at the maximum rate of £10.25 a week was issued on 31st March, 1976, to the post office at which the person concerned stated he wished to be paid. A separate notification was sent to the claimant's home address also on 31st March, 1976, informing him that the pension book had been issued and that any arrears due would be paid by payable order. A payable order for £75.35 was subsequently issued to the pensioner and was cashed on 5th May, 1976. The Deputy's question is the first intimation received in this Department that claimant had not received his pension book. It has been confirmed that the pension book is in the post office of payment and the claimant has again been informed accordingly.
