andRuairí Brugha asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs if he has reports of ill-treatment and intimidation of people by the British Army at Eglish, Dungannon, County Tyrone; and if he will call upon the British Government to investigate these reports with a view to punishing the perpetrators and ensuring that such conduct is discontinued.

andRuairí Brugha asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs if his attention has been drawn to reports (details supplied) of harassment and degrading treatment of the civilian population by the British Army at Fort Monagh, Belfast; and if he will call upon the British Government to investigate these reports with a view to punishing those responsible and terminating such activities.

With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, I propose to take take Questions Nos. 36 and 37 together. I have seen reports of these allegations and have brought them to the attention of the British authorities who are at present investigating them. I have asked to be informed of the outcome of the investigations.
