Vol. 291 No. 15

Written Answers. - Television Licence Prosecutions.

45.

(Dublin Central): asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the number of prosecutions brought by his Department against the owners of television sets for not having a licence in the years 1974 and 1975.

My Department's records show that in 1974 5,993 cases were sent to the Department's solicitor's office with instructions to institute legal proceedings for possession of unlicensed television sets and that the corresponding figure for 1975 was 9,364.
