Vol. 291 No. 15

Written Answers. - Telephone Service.

51.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will arrange for the provision of a satisfactory 24-hour telephone service for subscribers in the Broadford, County Limerick area.

The question of introducing continuous telephone service at Broadford exchange, County Limerick, is being examined at present and I shall let the Deputy know the position when consideration of the matter has been completed.

52.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs why his Department have taken so long to provide a telephone for a person in County Mayo (name supplied), particularly in view of the fact that applicants from the same place who applied only recently have been facilitated.

Service has not yet been provided for the applicant concerned because of heavy arrears of engineering work in the general area. It is hoped to attend to the application during the first half of next year.

My Department have been unable to trace any recent application which has been attended to in the area in question.
