asked the Minister for Education the present position regarding the proposed new secondary school at Threadneedle Road, Salthill, County Galway.
With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 69 and 70 together.
The question of making a site available at Threadneedle Road, Galway, for the erection of a new school to replace Salerno secondary school is being actively pursued by the Commissioners of Public Works in consultation with the authorities of Coláiste Éinde. Legal formalities for the transfer of the land are at present in hands.
When this matter has been resolved, the planning of the school premises will be undertaken without avoidable delay.
