Vol. 294 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Offaly IDA Factories.

18.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if his Department and the IDA have made any progress in finding suitable industries for the IDA factories in Edenderry and Tullamore, County Offaly where there is high unemployment.

The Industrial Development Authority have been making vigorous efforts to attract new industrial projects to both of the towns mentioned. These efforts are being maintained. The Deputy will be aware that over the past year and a half projects had been secured on two occasions for the Edenderry factory but that in each case the promoters subsequently decided not to proceed.
