Vol. 294 No. 9

Written Answers. - Unemployment Benefit Appeals.

77.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will state when a person (name supplied) in County Meath, who appealed the decision of the medical referee in July, will be brought before the appeals medical referee, in view of the fact that he was certified fit for work last July by a medical referee although he was on monthly medical certificates and was classified as disabled with spinal injury and arthritis by the occupational injuries section of his Department.

In connection with appeals by the person referred to by the Deputy against the disallowance of his disability benefit claim and a reduction in his weekly payments under the occupational injuries scheme, arrangements have been made for a second medical examination on 8th December, 1976. The claimant is being notified of the time and place of the examination. His appeals will be reviewed in the light of the findings of this examination.
