The allocation of portfolios within the Commission of the European Communities is a matter for the Commission.
Has the Taoiseach any indication even at this late stage what portfolio is being allocated to the former Minister for Education?
None whatever. I gather that the new Commission has not yet met.
Does the new Commission meet formally before the allocation of portfolios?
I do not know whether it is formally or informally but I gather that they will meet.
