asked the Taoiseach the percentage increase in 1974, 1975 and the first nine months of 1976 in the price of the following commodities: tea, butter, sugar, milk, potatoes, bread and coffee.

With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, I propose to circulate in the Official Report a statement giving the percentage changes for the relevant periods in the average retail prices of the commodities specified as determined from the prices collected for the calculation of the consumer price index. This index is calculated in respect of mid-February, mid-May, mid-August and mid-November each year.
