Vol. 295 No. 4

Written Answers. - Agricultural Holdings.

55.

asked the Taoiseach the estimated number of farmers with agricultural holdings in each of the following ranges of rateable valuations: over £100, over £75, over £60, over £50 and over £40.

The following table, which is compiled from the 1971 census of population, shows the numbers of persons with the occupation of farmer classified according to the aggregate rateable valuation of agricultural holdings held by persons usually resident in households. Where there was more than one rated occupier of an agricultural holding usually resident in a household information was collected only on the combined valuation of these holdings. The valuation groupings used in the census do not permit the compilation of the exact sub-division requested by the Deputy.
