asked the Minister for Social Welfare when unemployment assistance will be paid to a person (name supplied) in County Meath who is signing on for the past 16 weeks, first in County Clare and now in County Meath.

The application for unemployment assistance of the person concerned has been allowed at the maximum rate applicable to a married man with dependent wife only who is resident in a rural area. The first payment was made to him last week and further payments will continue as they fall due. When the amounts of home assistance paid to him by the two home assistance authorities concerned have been ascertained payment of any arrears of unemployment assistance due to him since the date of his application will be made to him subject to an adjustment in respect of these amounts.
