Vol. 296 No. 5

Written Answers. - Social Welfare Benefits.

115.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will now arrange to have unemployment benefit paid to a person (details supplied) in County Cork who has been unemployed since mid-December, 1976, and has not received any benefit.

The claim for unemployment benefit made by the person concerned on 1st January, 1977, has been allowed at the maximum rate applicable to a married man who has a wife and two dependent children. Arrangements have been made for payment of arrears of all unemployment benefit due to him this week and further payments will continue as they fall due.

116.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will arrange to have unemployment assistance-benefit paid to a person (name supplied) in County Cork.

There is no trace of a claim for unemployment benefit or unemployment assistance from a person of the name and address supplied. If, however, the Deputy can give further identifying particulars such as an insurance number or a qualification certificate number further inquiries will be made.

In the meantime arrangements have been made to have the necessary forms issued by the local office to the person at the address given to enable her to apply for either unemployment benefit or unemployment assistance.
