Vol. 296 No. 7

Written Answers. - County Limerick Estate.

83.

asked the Minister for Lands when proceedings were first instigated by the Land Commission for acquisition of the Keays estate, Caherconlish, County Limerick; the reason for the delay; and when the proceedings will be finalised.

Proceedings for the compulsory acquisition of the property referred to were commenced in June, 1974. An objection to acquisition came for hearing before the lay commissioners in October, 1974, and was disallowed. Negotiations on price were then begun but as these proved unsuccessful the price was fixed and published by the Land Commission in May, 1976. An appeal has been lodged against the price fixed and this is at present pending for determination by the appeal tribunal. The proceedings are being pressed forward as rapidly as possible.
