Vol. 296 No. 10

Written Answers. - Mayo School Improvements.

106.

asked the Minister for Education when grants will be made available to carry out repairs and add water and sewerage facilities to Kinaffe National School, Swinford, County Mayo.

Following on my decision, which I announced on 7 Feabhra, 1977, to make grants available towards the cost of improvement works to smaller national schools, I have directed that an examination be made as a matter of urgency of all cases in respect of which applications have been received in my Department.

I am anxious that each application be dealt with as expenditiously as possible. It may be necessary, however, to establish priorities so that those schools to which improvements are most urgently required will be among the first to receive attention.

I am not in a position to say, at this stage, when grants will be made available for improvements to this school.
