Vol. 296 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Sligo School.

27.

asked the Minister for Education if he is aware that the manager of Riverstown No. 2 national school, County Sligo, has made an application to his Department for sanction for a second teacher; and if he will give immediate sanction as one teacher now has to cope with 38 children and there are others seeking admission.

The number of pupils on rolls in Riverstown national school warrants the appointment of a second teacher but suitable accommodation is not available for the purpose. My Department is in communication with the Office of Public Works in regard to the question of the provision of such extra accommodation and a solution to the problem will be expedited as much as possible.
