Vol. 296 No. 12

Written Answers. - Restoration of St. Enda's.

55.

asked the Minister for Finance the present position regarding the restoration of St. Enda's, the Hermitage, Rathfarnham, Dublin; and when the work will be completed.

The grounds of St. Enda's, containing nearly 40 acres, have been laid out. Stage 1 of the scheme of building restoration, comprising the renewal of roofs, the provision of new drains and the erection of public toilets has been completed. A contract for Stage 2, which includes work to the interior of the main house, has been placed and is progressing satisfactorily. It is expected to be finished about the end of this year. At this stage it is not possible to say when the final stages of the work which will comprise general repairs and renovation and so on, will be completed.
