Vol. 297 No. 1

Written Answers. - County Dublin Unemployed.

70.

Mr. R. Burke

asked the Taoiseach the number of people unemployed in the North County Dublin area; and the number unemployed in each of the following areas: Balbriggan, Skerries, Rush, Lusk, Donabate, Swords and Malahide.

Total figures for the numbers of persons on the live register residing in different counties and in towns with legally defined boundaries are compiled in respect of a date at the end of each month. Of the towns mentioned by the Deputy, only one— Balbriggan—has a legally defined boundary and the number of persons residing in that town who were on the live register on 28th January, 1977, was 154. The total number of persons residing in County Dublin, other than in Dublin County Borough or the Borough of Dún Laoghaire, who were on the live register on the same date was 4,687.
