Vol. 297 No. 1

Written Answers. - Clare Schools.

117.

asked the Minister for Education when work commenced on a general purpose room at Corofin national school, County Clare; how far the work has proceeded to date; and when the building will be completed.

I am informed that work on this project commenced in September, 1975. I am not in a position to say precisely how far the work has proceeded to date but in a report dated 15th January, 1977 the district inspector of national schools stated that the work was far from being completed. The matter has been taken up with the Commissioners of Public Works who have undertaken to do everything possible to have work on the project accelerated. They cannot at present say, however, when the work will be completed.

asked the Minister for Education the present position regarding the small water and sewerage scheme from Doolin national school, County Clare.

The present position is that my Department have under consideration the question of allowing a grant towards the cost of installing a water supply and flush toilets at this school. I am hoping to have the matter brought to decision very soon.
