Vol. 297 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Schools Curriculum.

20.

asked the Minister for Education if he will have rural science included on the curriculum for national schools in rural areas.

Rural science constitutes part of the social and environmental studies programme of the new curriculum for national schools and a detailed syllabus adaptable to local conditions is outlined in the programme.

Would the Minister have an examination made of the facilities by way of equipment which are available to cover this part of the new curriculum?

In each individual school?

In the overall plan for the provision of equipment for the new curriculum to ensure the rural science section would get its due emphasis.

I will have an inquiry made.
