Vol. 298 No. 1

Written Answers. - Retirement Pension Arrears.

63.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare why arrears of retirement pension due from 25th March to 1st September, 1976, have not been paid to a person (details supplied) in County Offaly.

A payable order in respect of arrears of retirement pension due to the person concerned for the period 25th March, 1976, to 8th September, 1976, was issued to her on 16th March, 1977. The delay in payment, which is regretted, arose from an oversight due to the fact that the possible entitlement of the person concerned to a British retirement pension on a combination of her Irish and British insurance under EEC regulations has been under investigation with the British authorities whose decision in the matter is still awaited.
