asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state (a) the number of applicants for houses in Sligo town (b) the number of new houses completed in 1976 (c) the number of new houses to be completed in 1977 and (d) when sanction will be given for the Mougheraboy scheme.

Following is the information:

(a) According to the most recent figures, supplied by Sligo Corporation in October last, there were 205 approved applicants for rehousing in the town. A further 68 applications had not been processed at that time. Of the 205 approved applications, 167 are for families of three or less.

(b) Ten houses were completed by the urban council during 1976. The figures for the previous three years were: 1973-74, 94; 1974, 68; 1975, 95.

(c) There are 88 houses under construction at present with a further 367 in planning. Of these, the corporation expect 88 to be completed during the year.

(d) Sanction to the technical documents for a scheme of 72 houses at Mougheraboy issued on the 23rd March, 1977, and the local authority were informed that the allocation of capital for the scheme would be considered when tenders for the work have been received.
