Vol. 299 No. 4

Written Answers. - Clare Industries.

66.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce the names of the companies at present operating in the Ennis Industrial Estate; and the number of people employed in each industry.

I am informed by SFADCo that there are at present five companies operating in the Ennis Industrial Estate: Paclene, BLC, Inland Motors, Dexter Plastics, and Ennis Precision Limited.

It would be contrary to practice to give confidential information—such as employment—in respect of individual firms. However, I might add for the Deputy's information that the total number employed in these five firms at 31st March, 1977, was 321.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce the efforts that are being made to provide a suitable industry for the advance factory at Kilrush, County Clare.

I am informed by SFADCo that the company completed the construction of an advance factory building at Kilrush last month. A number of prospective industrialists have viewed the building but as yet no specific proposal has emerged. The company and the IDA are at present using every effort to attract an industry to the town.
