Vol. 300 No. 5

Written Answers. - School Heating.

279.

asked the Minister for Finance when the contract for the installation of central heating in Knockcommon national school was placed; when work commenced; when it is likely to be completed; and if it has been continuous since commencement.

On 8th February, 1977, the reverend chairman of the board of management of the school was authorised to accept a tender for the installation of central heating. An inspection carried out by the Office of Public Works in August last indicated that the work was proceeding satisfactorily. Since then the Office of Public Works have not been requested by the reverend chairman to make a further inspection nor have they received any complaints about unsatisfactory progress. The execution of the work is not being supervised by the Office of Public Works and inspections by their officers are made in connection with the payment of the grant sanctioned by the Department of Education.
