asked the Minister for Finance the number, grade and purpose of posts made vacant since 5th July, 1977 in his Department as a result of the transfer of (a) particular officials and (b) functions from his Department to the Department of Economic Planning and Development; and if it is proposed to (a) suppress or (b) fill these posts.
Discussions are still proceeding in regard to the transfer of staff and functions to the new Department of Economic Planning and Development. At present, pending the enactment of legislation, there are 55 officers of my Department on loan to the Office of the Minister for Economic Planning and Development.
These are comprised of 1 Deputy Assistant Secretary; 3 Principals; 12 Assistant Principals (Grade I); 2 Assistant Principals (Grade II); 13 County Development Team Secretaries; 9 Administrative Officers; 1 Higher Executive Officer; 2 Executive Officers; 1 Clerical Officer; 11 Clerical Assistants;
The question of replacements in my Department is still under discussion.
