asked the Minister for Education the use being made by the National Library of each area of additional accommodation obtained or earmarked for it in the past three years; and if and when vacant possession was obtained.

Numbers 1 and 1a Leinster Lane are being used by the National Library as storage accommodation for American Government publications and for certain manuscript materials. Vacant possession of these premises was obtained in March, 1974.

Part of a store at the rear of Nos. 2 and 3 Kildare Street—formerly the Kildare St. Club—has been renovated and microfilmed newspapers are now stored there. Plans are in preparation for the renovation and redevelopment of the entire premises at 2 and 3 Kildare St.

Vacant possession of these premises was obtained in July, 1976. Vacant possession of Nos. 4 and 5 Kildare Street has not been obtained.
