Vol. 301 No. 2

Written Answers. - Old Age Pensions.

416

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will arrange to have an old age pension paid to a person (name supplied) in County Cork who applied some months ago.

It has been decided by an appeals officer that the person concerned is not entitled to an old age non-contributory pension on the grounds that his means exceed the statutory limit for entitlement to pension.

417.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare the present position in relation to the application for a non-contributory old age pension by a person (name supplied) in County Kerry.

A non-contributory old age pension at the rate of £4.75 a week with effect from 7th October, 1977, has been provisionally awarded to the person concerned pending receipt of the decision of the local pension committee. The claimant's holding is being transferred and when the deed of transfer has been duly stamped the question of the claimant's entitlement to a higher rate of pension will be examined.
