Vol. 301 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Building Land.

9.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will make a statement on the Kenny Report on Developing Land for Building Purposes; and the steps his Department are taking with regard to the implementation of its recommendations.

10.

asked the Minister for the Environment whether it is the intention of the Government to implement the main recommendations of the Kenny Report on building land.

11.

asked the Minister for the Environment if the Government intend to implement the proposals of the Kenny Report on building land.

I propose with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, to take Questions Nos. 9, 10 and 11 together. As the Minister for the Environment I am giving precedence, in promoting the work programme of my Department, to arrangements necessary for the fulfilment of those commitments announced in the Government's programme which fall to be dealt with by my Department. The Kenny Report is one of a number of matters which I intend to review in due course.

In view of the fact that this report has been knocking around for some considerable time surely we should have arrived at a stage of decision. It was there before we took office.

That is a statement not a question.

The report was lodged in the Department of Local Government on the 7th March, 1973 and nothing happened since then.
