Vol. 301 No. 4

Written Answers. - Dublin-Wicklow Amenities.

479.

asked the Minister for Finance if in view of the diminishing amenities in the Dublin area, he will declare the Dublin/ Wicklow mountain ranges a national park.

There are no statutory powers to designate any areas in this country as national parks. Where such parks are proposed it is the policy for the State to acquire the necessary property. There are no plans at present for the acquisition of property for the establishment of a national park in the Dublin-Wicklow mountain ranges.
