Vol. 302 No. 9

Written Answers. - Kerry Unemployment Assistance Application.

142.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare the date of application for unemployment assistance by a person (name supplied) in County Kerry; and the reason for the delay in processing it.

The person concerned applied for unemployment assistance on 3rd February, 1977, and weekly payments were made to him up to 29th March, 1977, when it became known that he had acquired a holding sometime previous to his claim. Inquiries which proved protracted had then to be made into his circumstances and arising from these a deciding officer reassessed his weekly rate of means. Payment of all unemployment assistance due to him was made on 2nd December, 1977, and further payments will continue as they fall due.
